I was out shopping for baby shower decorations when I happened upon something exciting: Christmas decorations. First off, let me go ahead and lay it all out there: Yes, I am a freak and I am the reason that stores begin stocking their shelves with Christmas merchandise in July. I get super happy excited butterflies flitting around my belly when I see the first of Christmas hit the shelves. So needless to say, I was awestruck when I saw the aisle in mid-construction. Never mind that I’d just spent an hour searching for the perfect blue/orange accents for my modern baby theme. Forget that! I thought to myself as I chucked the items out of my basket. So instead of modern baby, I’m going with WINTER in AUGUST!
Alright, before you just toss off my idea like last year’s harem pants (which, I am proud to say, I never dabbled in), think about it for a second. I don’t know whereabout you live, but where I am there are currently record-breaking temperatures going on. The heat is so bad that when I step out of my apartment at night, I feel as though I’m stepping into a furnace. Just the other night it was so hot that when I woke up from a delicious dream about dipping into a pool of ice (from Sonic), I cried. A little bit. Though the tears may have been the sweat dripping from my face… But that’s another story.
Alright so back on topic: I’ve FOUND my THEME!!!
So I bought some snowflakes. Ok, I bought a couple dozen snowflakes. And at the behest of my shopping company, I also bought a few baby blue tablecloths.
Snow and ice. Mmm…
So I’m thinking of snowflakes and booties, booties and snowflakes. It’s rainin’ men? Nah. It’s snowing babies!
Facebook peeps: I’ll be back as soon as my load lightens up a bit! And as for you, wily readers, I’ll have more progress pics up tomorrow so be sure to check back in around this time…
