After posting I took a bit of a break to get a couple things done. When I resumed reading a half hour later I couldn’t bring myself to pick the same book back up. I got a couple chapters in, the main character’s husband was going to relocate for three months in Japan for work and she was feeling angsty about it. They seemed to be middle class or maybe upper middle class and I didn’t understand her angst. She had the money, if not the time, and I didn’t understand why she didn’t at least get a part-time job for a few hours a week (she wanted to work instead of stay at home) while letting her mother-in-law watch the baby while her older daughter was at work. Plus, in that situation I’d have jumped at the thought of living in Japan for a few months.
So, I put it down and picked up “Twilight”. As I got further into the book (I’m now on page 390 and the book only has 498 pages) more details were supplied than in the movie. I liked the backstory of Carlisle which I don’t believe was in the movie. If it was, I didn’t notice as I was very taken with Edward and how he looked and moved. Not normally my kind of guy but the movie drew me in. Bella seems to have more layers in the book than she did in the movie which I appreciate.
I have to get a couple hours more of sleep but, full of caffeine, I’m wide awake. So I’ll read a bit more before taking a nap. However my stats right now stand at:
Time since last update: 3 hours, 25 minutes (five to type out this blog)
Running time: 11 hours, 15 minutes
Going to check in on a blog or two that are joining in on the challenge.
